The Game of AFL Masters Australian Football (AFLM)
provides the opportunity for players 30 years and over to
enjoy the game of Aussie Rules Football in a safe, supportive
and fun environment.

After first commencing in 1980, the sport is governed by AFLM
and its nine member State Associations and is now played by
over 119 teams throughout Australia.

(formerly Masters Australian Football
and Superules Australia Inc)

AFLM has a national standardised set of modified rules designed
to reduce the risks of injury and has the benefit of being
acknowledged and supported by the AFL and the Australian
Sports Commission.

You will find a welcoming atmosphere at AFLM clubs with an
emphasis on family involvement and fun social interaction.
While a good level of fitness is required to enjoy the game fully,
training runs once or twice a week without huge time commitments
are the order of the day for AFLM.

The big annual event for AFLM is the National Carnival
which is rotated amoung various State venues.

... Details ... :- Official Call to Arms e-bulletin Thanks for getting off the bench to help the one in two men diagnosed with cancer by age 85. Can you lift your game to help make 2011 the most successful yet? Welcome to Call To Arms 2011! Last year more than 11,600 teams from 1596 clubs nationwide raised an incredible $511,000 for the fight against men’s cancers. You no longer have to choose a date in July to hold your Call To Arms match. Just pick a date that suits you and your club from now until December. Register your team today and kick-start your Call To Arms match. Your donations are used in three important ways: Support services: People with cancer, and their family and friends, can call our Cancer Council Helpline 13 11 20 and talk with one of our experienced cancer nurses who can provide reliable information on any type or stage of cancer. They can also link people to a range of support services like our Online Support Forums via www.cancerconnections.com.au which enable men and their families who are too unwell to leave home, have communication difficulties, or who live in rural areas, to access support. Prevention campaigns: We provide prevention campaigns like Quit and SunSmart to help people reduce their risk of cancer. Our new prevention website www.cutyourcancerrisk.org.au will arm you with all the tools you need to make healthy lifestyle changes that can significantly reduce your cancer risk on a personal, local, national and global level. World-class research: We fund the best researchers from Victoria’s leading cancer research institutes, hospitals and universities. One study we are currently funding aims to find out whether elevated levels of estrogens promote prostatitis – inflammation that causes prostate cancer in 10 percent of men. If successful, it could lead to a new treatment for prostatitis, as well as preventing one of the causes of prostate cancer.
